That, of course, is a personal question for which you may need to do some soul-searching to answer. As a former-botched-plastic-surgery-patient-turned-aesthetic-physician (ask me about my story sometime over a glass of wine), I of course have my preference. But despite my checkered surgical history, I believe there are myriad other reasons one should consider nonsurgical aesthetics before heading directly to plastics. Let me explain why. First, anti-aging plastic surgeries are not any more permanent than any nonsurgical collagen/elastin-stimulating procedure. The reason for this is that there is no way to stop the aging process. So, no matter what you have done, you will always continue to age and gravity will continue to take its toll. Second (and this one is quite obvious), no surgery, no general anesthesia: lower risk. Third, because the nonsurgical route is accomplished gradually over time, it will result in a more natural-appearing outcome and also be less shockingly obvious to other. Last (and most important in my mind), lots of little, measured changes can be easily tweaked, tailored and perfected unlike one, big surgical change while you're asleep. All this being said, of course, there are many fantastic plastic surgeons in the world and plenty of people who are tremendously satisfied with their surgical results. It is a personal decision, but I know I have made mine.
